Northern Roots
NNW Foundation was founded in 2018 by NNW Communications Founder & Principal, Cailey Murphy. Growing up in North-Central BC, Murphy never lost her connection to, and passion for, Northern British Columbia. Understanding the unique challenges to accessing higher education for students in remote communities, she hopes to inspire and enable a new generation of innovative and energetic minds to find their calling through the NNW Foundation.
Dusty Chipura and Karen McAthy joined as founding members in 2019.
Glen Murray, Andrew Burton, and Marcy Morris joined in subsequent years to add a northern footprint in order to support the growth and reach of the organization.
The NNW Foundation became a Registered Charity with the Charities Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency in 2023.
